I did have some trouble...It looks weird when I did it. I did it wrong anyways. I did it very wrong. I'm not sure how to fix what I did wrong but it wasn't bad enough to rip it back...I haven't even wore this sweater yet...I moved to TX and it isn't that cold here... Oh well..
Good luck on it.. It is a great looking sweater when done...

I know this is a past post but I'm making this sweater right now and I'm at the top shoulders and the pattern gets weird. Did you have any troubles with the pattern?

I sent the books and hooks FedEx 2nd day so they should arrive when you return to work on Wed. I tested a new cookie recipe and will ship those for Thursday night. Scott said they were okay, but I need to add more nuts and chocolate next time. Well you said I could try out new recipes right?
Can't wait to see your pics. I'll try and get some taken of the baby afghan I'm crocheting too. I've done enough on it now that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

Sweet!!!!! I can't wait. I worked at Knit Purl and got $20 for helping with inventory. I bought or should I say gave back money for the Stitch and Bitch book The Happy Hooker. I'm learning. I have an H hook. Thats it till I get the ones your sending up. I will need to ask so many questions. I don't understand when to go in between the necktie or just through one part of it. I'm sure that I'll figure it out. I am so close to getting my sweater done. I'll post pictures. I just have the collar and button parts to do. I can't wait for it to be done. It is almost too nice out up here to wear a sweater. I hope I can at least wear it once or so. Oh well.
Thanks for the hooks and books...

Keep on hookin' and throwin'

Those are great. You should try to use two circulars. Then you can do 2 at once. I havent tried that yet but after the sweater that is what is next. I want to try socks.

MD,
This looks really good. i remember seeing that board out before. i should go get one of those from joannes or something. it would help with blocking the sweater. I'm stuck on that by the way. Instructions are confusing and knit purl peeps are a bit stumped as well. Oh well, thursday I will put the task to the group...

Great looking store. I will definitely have to plan a trip for S&S. I'm still struggling with my shawl!!!!! ARG!!!

What a surprise this afternoon when I got home. I love the poster! I think I'll hang it over my desk in the girls room.

Sorry to see you ripping out your knitting, but better to do it now than have a sweater you would never wear.

You obviously spent alot of time knitting this weekend. Alison's work is amazing for day 1!!!!! Very even tension. It won't be long before she's "hooked"......whoops, she's not crocheting.

I did spend some time this weekend researching blocking. My scarf will definitely need to be blocked. In looking at all of the beautiful finished items at the store I go to, it's obvious blocking makes a difference. So I'm sure by blocking you can achieve a more finished look to your jacket as well as better fit. With wools you can adjust the fit by the way you block. Ask about this at your next S&S. Also ask for recommendation on blocking boards. The store I go to is working on setting up a blocking station. They are working out the verbiage on some type of terms and conditions to cover themselves for damage to your project or injury to yourself while using their equipment. Anyway, I'm counting on blocking to make this shawl look even and well shaped and portioned evenly.
