Update Smokin’ sweater/jacket
Posted in Uncategorized on March 29, 2008 by Tadashi“Smoker Jacket”
Posted in Uncategorized on March 28, 2008 by TadashiThis is a great jacket from Son of Stitch and Bitch. I’m using Lambs Pride Chunky yarn. We decided that the dark blue is a color I just don’t really have too much off and the green or brown I was going to choose is just like everything else I have. I can’t wait for this to get done. I will feel like I accomplished so much. So far it is really shaping up well. I have done about 7 inches total. Just 13 or so more for the body. Then to the sleeves and then to the next and joining. Wow. That will be fun.
I’m really digging my US 11 Addi Turbos 32″. They make me knit super fast. When I just zone and don’t think about it I fly. I think that I’m wanting the set of Knit Picks interchangables. They are cost effective and the tips are a bit sharper then the Addi’s. W ewill see. I’m going to work on a few other projects at the same time as this. I’m not sure what yet but I’m thinking super easy so I don’t get burned out.
Check the progress photos.

“Whale Half Gloves”
Posted in Uncategorized with tags cable, gloves, knit, knitted, knitted gloves, yarn on March 25, 2008 by TadashiWell here is the next installment of a pattern that is too far advanced for me to get perfect. I like it. I hope that I can get the umph to do the second one. This one took some time. I really like the feel of it. It is a bit warmer then the Cigar Gloves. And how can you not love the whale tail cable on the back of the hand. I think that I will try to incorporate more cables in my projects. I just like doing them. The photos are so so. The ones that don’t look orange are closer to the actual color. It is a grey.

“Alison’s Short Hat”
Posted in Uncategorized with tags circular, Hat, knit, knitting, Short, Short Bus, Timmee, yarn on March 17, 2008 by TadashiWell here is a project just finished. It turned out really neat to look at but I guess not great to wear due to the fact that I decreased too quickly and made it too short. Oh well. It looks good and I learned something. What do you think? I started it around 2ish this afternoon. I went through my stash basket and organized it a bit. There is tons of acrylic and not much full new skeins of anything. I am still going to start my other Cigar Glove tomorrow and get that done. Then I have the green yarn for my new brimmed beanie I will make. Alison wants her green scarf I told her I’d make a few years ago. I guess I’ll have tons done when it gets cold again later in the year.

“Cigar Gloves”
Posted in Uncategorized with tags cigar, debbie bliss, gloves, knit, knitting, yarn on March 16, 2008 by TadashiStarted a new project last night and finished the first one just a bit ago.
Found this pattern at knitty.com. I thought it was cool. Didn’t like the stripes so didn’t do them. What do you think? I will start the other hand tonight.
I also got some yarn on clearance at Knit/Purl. They are ok. The green yarn is a Debbie Bliss Donegal Chunky Tweed. 100% wool. I like it. I’m going to make a brimmed beanie again with it. Shorter brim and different stitches. Not sure yet how it’s going to look. The color is good though.
I really want to try to do a big project. The smokers jacket? Sweaters scare me. I don’t know if I could stand to work so long on one project. I guess socks are out. I’ll get the “2nd sock syndrome”. I would just do some other hat projects or something in between working on the big piece. We will see.
MD- post some projects up.

Brimmed Beanie…1st attempt
Posted in Uncategorized with tags beanie, brim, circular, knit, knitting, purl, yarn on March 14, 2008 by TadashiSo I have been looking for a pattern to make of a beanie with a brim. I have searched high and low with no luck. I finally found one. I didn’t like the pattern so I decieded to make my own version. It turned out ok. I want to try again with a smaller brim.
Here are some photos of the finished product:
MD and Son Knitting is in business…
Posted in Uncategorized with tags MD Son Knitting Knit Yarn Crochet Purl on March 14, 2008 by TadashiWhat this is and what this isn’t:
IS: A place for MD and Son to see what each other is working on. Also to visit with each other and others that come to the site.
ISN’T: A business? (Why not? We are both pretty good with yarn crafts) We should make stuff to sell.
MD – You can post stuff on here too. Not just me
